Top 5 Facilities Management Contract Wins in the GCC

The rapid growth of the Property & Construction industry the Middle East has paved the way for an emerging focus in Facilities Management. Consequently, the Facilities Management industry is growing at a rapid rate and is making a substantial contribution towards the economy in the Middle East. Below are some examples of the positive movements which are taking place in the Middle East.

1. Eulen Facility Management Services secures its first two FM Contracts in the UAE.

The first contract which Eulen has been awarded is by Etisalat. Eulen will conduct electrical, building, and climate control maintenance activities for a group of schools in the Emirates of Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, & Umm Al Quwain. The initial agreement will run until the end of 2018, and the value of the contract which has the potential to increase over the longer term.

The second contract has been awarded by Souk Qaryat Al Beri in Abu Dhabi who fall under the terms of the Etisalat deal. Eulen has agreed to maintain the mall’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) facilities. The current contract is valid for the duration of one year but has the option to be renewed for an additional year.

2. Cofely BESIX secures an FM contract with Masdar City & ADAC

Cofely has been contracted to provide Total Facilities Management (TFM) services at Masdar City & ADAC. The duration of the contract which has been agreed upon is 3 years.

This contract covers both hard and soft services such as O&M and civil infrastructure work which was awarded in February 2017.

3. Farnek’s H&G secures an FM contract with Cayan Tower

Farnek’s Hitches & Glitches (H&G) has been contracted for 2 years to provide all hard services to Cayan Tower in Dubai Marina. These hard services comprise of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) maintenance.

Cayan Tower has earned the reputation of being one of Dubai’s most iconic tower due to the building walls twisting by 90 degrees from top to bottom. The 73-storey tower was designed by a tier 1 architectural firm called Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) which is the same group that created the design concept for the Burj Khalifa. Under this annual contract, H&G will provide 24 hours of home maintenance which will include an on-site response team for all emergencies and routine maintenance required by Cayan’s residents.

4.  Imdaad secures an FM contract with Emarat for UAE

Imaad has been contracted by Emarat, a supplier of petroleum products in the UAE, to offer all hard FM services for a duration of 2 years which has the option of being extended to 3 years.

The services which Imaad has agreed to provide include both sustainable and integrated general waste collection.

5.  Emrill secures client, Dubai Healthcare City

Emril has agreed to provide all IFM service for Dubai Healthcare City for a duration of 3 years. Emril recently announced that they will housekeeping, MEP, and preventative maintenance services, for Dubai Healthcare City-owned buildings and infrastructure under a contract that will extend till 2020

Emrill has also been awarded a number of residential contracts which include Dubai's Grandeur Residences, Bay Central, Dubai Hills Show Villas, Al Murad Tower, Meydan South Villas, and Arabian Ranches 2. In addition, Emrill will deliver integrated FM and lifeguard services to REEM Community.  

Ultimately, The above 5 contracts only provide a small glimpse into the movements in the Facilities Management industry in the UAE. One should certainly keep a close eye on this up and coming industry as it appears to have a bright future ahead of itself.
